Other than that. I'm out of ideas.

We have fence testers here. We can test the charge at the unit and along the fence. So there is a way to test them.

But not being there, those are my only ideas.

Okay thanks. Also this post I'm using, I have it tied to the first plastic post with a shoestring. Surely that's not the issue since it's not actually touching the fence but it has a metal spike.

Talked to Howard here on the forum and he suggested I touch the soil and then the fence...because with rubber shoes I wouldn't feel the shock...and happily it hurt like heck, so I guess my fence is working after all.
Also the red clamp needs to be attached to the metal hanging clip which is also used to attach to a second fence, for those who may not know that.

Well I had 3 different people touch the fence and no one felt a thing. LOL
