I have some 6 week olds that are just now getting close to being able to sex, i think. (minus the silkies, probably) Let me know if you see anything obvious that points to pullet or cockerel. i'm still trying to learn. Thanks!

Hens feathers grow faster than roosters. The Brahma's comb looks like it may be turning red. The Silkie's feathers looks like they may be growing slow. I think the Polish looks hen. The Brahma looks rooster. Hard to tell on the Silkie, I think it might be a rooster, too. Are they all the same age?

They all hatched the same day according to hatchery. Got them all together. So my polish chick was seriously the first to feather out of all 15. I've never had silkies, their fluff looks like down, but i can tell a lot of it is new feather growth too. This silkie is the biggest of all 5 of mine and kind of acts like a psychopath when i even go to touch him. Pretty sure its going to be a rooster, but not sure. My brahma feathered quick too, but does kindddda look like the comb is turning pretty pink. Usually wouldn't it be red by now?

Yes, I'd say the Polish is a hen. The Silkie I'd say is a rooster. A hen's comb doesn't seem to start changing red until they are about to lay. Be watching for green feathers on the tails of the Brahmas and the Polishes. Those will come a little later and those with green feathers are roosters.

Here is a picture of a young Polish rooster, not certain on the age, but it was a rooster that I saw on Craigslist awhile back. I wanted to get him, but I didn't have any hens that was his type or age.
