Can anyone help us to understand what to expect with Holderread order?

We moved the babies outside in a sectioned off area of the duck pen. This will be their first night outside. :fl It has been in the high 70s and 80s during the day and 50- 60s at night. They have some feathers, but we think there is enough to stay warm together. They will be in a sheltered 4x3 house overnight. I think that will keep them snug enough for if the temperature gets cooler. We have never put them out at night this early in their development. Has anyone else? They are too big for their tubs and get out now. They are only a month old.....

Learningstill, you can have your ducks out as soon as they feather out as long as you have the pen fenced up. I have not left mine out at night because the pen isn't enclosed well but I do let em out til about 10 in the pen to get a drink then I lock em up to be safe. But I'd say as long as it's enclosed well you should be fine.

. Before and after on the first pic, they're getting so big and starting to feather out. Sadly I lost a welsh harlequin so now I have 13. Last pic: They're were nibbling on my boots today lol. I can sorta tell which are which now. And I have to say my Welshies are the smallest of them all.

They're so cute! Mine are not quite feathered out and being outside around the clock in a fenced in area but get locked up at night. Might have to turn the heat lamp on tonight as it's supposed to be only 42 but otherwise they're fine.
I also lost a duckling, an Appleyard. Did yours show any signs of being sick or anything?

Thanks DuckBoy323! Everyone is looking great. I like the picture with the cross shadow. Sorry about your welsh baby :( Do you know what happened? Was it weaker than the others from the beginning?

The ducklings made it through the night :weee We were even more scared, because it rained right before lockup and they were soaked. They all were dry this morning when we let them out. I think we may bring them in tomorrow night because the weather predictions says overnight temp of 48 degrees...

Thanks for the updated photos. Are your saxony's super friendly? Ours will let you pet their backs without taking off.

Our saxonys are not THAT friendly that they won't run from is when we wanna pet them. But they sure come running as soon as they see me with greens in my hands!

Not sure if I should let them out of their house as it is already quite chilly and really windy. And yes, heat lamps will go on in their houses tonight! Won't let my babies freeze or get cold!

They have great personalities!
What are the temperatures where you are? Unfortunately we do not have electricity in their pen, so we will have to bring them inside again, puke! Inside, they have not used to heat lamp since they were around a week old. The problem is they get out of their tubs and walk around our kitchen, that's why I said puke...

Yes they all have great personalities. That's why we got so many ducks! ;)

We're in NW Wisconsin so our temps still vary quite a bit. It has been around 75 for the daytime but as it was around 50 now for over a week now we're supposed to get tonight only 42. We put out heat lamps (over extension cords from the garage) when the nights were so cold for a few days last week (or the week before? Can't remember). So all will be oki outside.

The smaller ones will stay inside in their tubs. They're those big black cattle troughs and if they try to jump out we simply put extra window screens over them! They make that rattle too when playing but at least they can't get out and be toys for our dogs.

I really do not know what happened to the welsh harlequin. One day I had em all outside eating grass and I believe that same day at night I left them out in the pen and something must of gotten it. Since then I've been locking em in a night and so far have not lost a single one yet thank god. And mine are pretty friendly you could say. They all come up to me and nibble on my boots and legs. And I have been able to pet em a bit without them running away from me. And I do know that one of my welsh harlequins were weak but idk if it was that same one. None of em are sick at all I've given them electrolytes and brewers yeast so id hope they weren't sick. At least to me they don't look sick at all right now.

Sorry to hear of your losses. My gosling trio arrived this morning. They wrote 3 bargain goslings so I think they are 1 American blue,(who is about twice as big
700

as the other 2) and 2 Africans. Date stamp on picture not accurate. Camera was a $30. Walmart clearance item and had been sitting in the store for years and I did not know it would put date stamps on all my photos and I do not know how to change it.
