Thank you so much! I am gonna look into that book! Honestly, I'm leaning towards the raw diet at this point! @TwoCrows what is your recipe for raw feeding you dog?

I do the following...

3 pounds lean ground Turkey cooked
2 cups frozen peas and carrots cooked
1 large sweet potato grated and cooked
Vitamins

All this mixed together and divided into individual servings and frozen.

I used to add black beans and chickpeas, but he started kicking them out of the bowl so I excluded them. He also gets apples and Apricots as treats. This seems to be a well rounded diet for him. He is ancient old now and declining now. But he no longer has skin, ear or digestive issues.

And of course according to his individual activity level and metabolism.

According to his age, breed and weight.

If he weights 70 pounds, then we should be feeding him 2 3/4 cup of food per day, so about 1 1/3 cups per feeding.

Thank you so much! What are the vitamins you feed? Comet, wont eat his vitamins. If he gets them in his mouth he will gag it up and refuse to eat them. Thanks again!

It is not about cups,it is about the different parts of what you feed.
For example 2 cups of grated carrots does not equal to 2 cups of grated raw meat.

She's not feeding raw. She's feeding homemade cooked.

If you want to use the recipe refrain from cooking the turkey, better feed it raw.

Ohh, I did think about this. I was planning on making a mixture ahead of time and freezing it in the 1-1/3 cup qualities. If that quantity sound strong to you please tell me and I will change it. I have never don this before so I need all the help I can get! Ohh, and with two crows recipe, will I need to brush his teeth?
