And homemade cooked will have lost a lot of vitamins and minerals and therefore need additional artificial vitamins etc. Not what we would strive for, but some dogs do well on homemade cooked meals. She's not feeding raw. She's feeding homemade cooked.
My boy loves these and he's very picky with the taste of things.Thank you so much! What are the vitamins you feed? Comet, wont eat his vitamins. If he gets them in his mouth he will gag it up and refuse to eat them. Thanks again!
Yes, as this is homemade cooked food and not raw. Also there are no raw bones included in the diet which would be important for healthy teeth.Ohh, I did think about this. I was planning on making a mixture ahead of time and freezing it in the 1-1/3 cup qualities. If that quantity sound strong to you please tell me and I will change it. I have never don this before so I need all the help I can get! Ohh, and with two crows recipe, will I need to brush his teeth?
Raw is usually measured in pounds and/or ounces I think rather than cups.If he weights 70 pounds, then we should be feeding him 2 3/4 cup of food per day, so about 1 1/3 cups per feeding.
I would do a lot more research first before just diving into anything. That recipe works for her but it may not work for you or even be the best thing. I would continue to look into the various raw options out there as well as the various kibbles and any treats and environmental factors. This is not something that should just be done impulsively. Listen to the advice and suggestions people are giving and then use that to continue your own research. Do not just jump into something. I do not mean this to be mean at all but you seem to be jumping around a lot whenever anybody suggests anything. Oh I’m going to try this no wait I’m going to try yours instead, etc. You do not have to agree with everybody or try everything. Just continue to research and then do what is best for your dog, which may not necessarily be what people have suggested.Thank you everyone! I just ordered the book, and am gonna start using @TwoCrows recipe of raw feeding, unless I find a better recipe in the book, or from another user! Thanks so much, I certainly hope the helps!
I think I am gonna cook it, I feel like it will travel better and store better if we take it on trips!I don't trust how meat is handled these days, so I prefer to cook his meats, but cooking does cause some loss of nutrients. I wouldn't imagine enough to make a huge difference, but I am not an expert though.![]()
You could always feed one of the frozen or freeze dried raw options. That would be less mess and easier to take on the go.I think I am gonna cook it, I feel like it will travel better and store better if we take it on trips!
