I would say you are likely correct that he is a mix. I got him at 1 week old from a lady that had over 200 free range chickens just breeding openly. I just wondered what kind of mix. Here is a closer up photo of his comb and a photo of him as a baby.

I would say a sex link mixed with an EE mixed with Welsummer.

His comb look like a typical Easter Egger comb—a loose pea comb.
