Can anyone tell if I'm a hen or rooster yet?

Your very welcome. They Probably come from down the road. But who knows. Some could be wild and chose to or get put out of the flock. But I have never heard of someone (even if they do fight chickens) throwing out hens, specially such nice looking ones. Not to rule out that possibility though. Maybe they just knew they would have a good home with you.

Guess we'll never really solve the mystery. But we're glad to have them around - they're so fun to watch.

Do you know much about chicken behavior? In particular wild chickens who are friendly with people? I just wonder because my girl Casino hasn't come around in 2 weeks now. I'm hoping she is sitting on a hidden nest somewhere in the bushes. Her last set of eggs that I knew about started in the beginning of june. She laid 5 or 6 in 2 weeks or so and sat on them for awhile till I was finally able to take them. Then she was back to her "normal" self, hanging around us during the day when we were around. But after this she also started hanging around with her boyfriend Zack alot. Seemed like she started spending more and more time in the bushes with him, and less time with us. But she would still come out at least once or twice a day, eat some feed and treats, catch some geckos or whatever we found for her. The whole time though, Zack would be lurking in the bushes calling for her. Eventually she would finish with us and go back with him into the bushes. It was quite amusing. Anyways, one Friday she was normal- hung around and caught some frogs. But then the following Monday she didn't show up and hasn't since. So this is the third monday she hasn't come. No sign of Zack since then either.

Do you think she is hiding on a nest somewhere? Would her rooster be staying around her while she is on her nest? Or is this just hopeful thinking on my part? I'm hoping next week she will come out with little chicks, but I just don't know. Anybody have experience with these types of wild chickens?
