I'm probably guessing wrong, but I'm guessing hen... We have them in the neighborhood to the south of us... I would think at that age if it were a cock, there would be more color.

color develops slowly.
he has burnt orange wing feathers.
if this was a hen by now her body would be shades of brown with no barring on the feathers.
