Can baby chicks sleep with heat light on at night.

Did they die from the cold or something else? Is your coop insulated? Where do you live?

Recently we have had bc of winter coming on daily discussions about heating these birds multiple times daily. Now prior to electricity chickens were never artificially heated and did fine from the dawn of time up until Thomas Edison screwed it all up and invented electricity and we started heating the chickens.

All kidding aside a 12 week old chicken bantam or normal stock has full down and feathered and needs no heat after 8 weeks. I vote on

I have two baby bantams about three weeks old. They are in a dog cage in the house and ever since i got them i have had a light on the cage so now when i turn it off they cry all night!!

I too am raising chicks and I'm using a white light bulb that emits enough heat, but I'm worried that my chicks won't sleep
