Switch to a heating pad brooder, and your chicks will have natural day/night cycles.

I have a 4 week old Bantam- Ameraucana. I leave the light on all night and she does just fine with it. When I tried turning it off she went crazy and started squeling. Do whatever you feel is best. You know them better then any of us do.
