Can Chickens die from choking on water?

Hi everyone!
We found one of our new chickens had passed this afternoon.
We found her near the water feeder, she was still warm and floppy.
I can only think she was either bitten or choked on water?
She had no signs of illness and all of our other chickens are fine.

Sorry to hear of this,,,
Not likely to choke on water. Can you examine her for the possible bite you suspect.
Chickens can also just die from unexpected causes.

We have already had her burial for the kids sake as they were upset.

I personally didn't suspect a bite, but the breeder I bought her from said she may have been. We checked for spiders and couldn't see anything.

So sad as we've only had them for about 4weeks

Choking on water? Not likely... and had she drowned she would've more than likely still been head first into the watering area.

Very sorry for your loss. What was her age?

She was only around 11 weeks.
Wasn't sure as when I picked her up she had what seemed to be water coming out of her mouth.
