can chickens eat pumpkins?

I love halloween because of the massive pumpkins my chickens get to eat. I think it is definitely their favorite holiday!!! They don't have to go trick or treating but get massive treats

I grew pumpkins in the garden this year. We had one that had a bad spot on it. (rotten) So I cut it off and gave it to the chickens. They loved it!

I feed my hens the seed ground in a coffee grinder. They love it. The seeds from any winter squash paralizes the worm and they expel it. If you see evidence of worms I would then follow up with a wormer OR rumor has it Cayene Pepper kills them too. They will consume the expelled worms if they are wiggling.

WAHOO.......I cut a summer squash in half and took it out to the chickens. I did not cook it this time. They didn't want anything to do with it for quite awhile but I was just out again to gather eggs and found that they've eaten the squash and all that's left is the outer portion. OK, I take back being a bad mom and calling them picky.

Has anyone tried freezing the pumpkin without cooking it? Like cut one in half and freeze each half so you can let it thaw out and feed it whenever? I have zero desire to cook and freeze pumpkins but I don't mind cutting them up and freezing them raw.
