My opinion. No, the older chick is old enough to care about pecking order believe it or not.

I tried to put a week old with 3 week olds and they picked on her constantly and I ended up having to seperate her. They are now together because they were properly integrated when they all looked the same.

I add chicks of different ages and they do ok. Just watch closely for the 1st few hours. Chicks do not thrive when they are alone.

I got day old chicks (4) and 3-week old chicks (4) at the same time. I put them together, and there has never been a single problem. They are 12 and 15 weeks old now and are a great little flock. Some of the younger ones are actually bigger than the older ones now.
