Can I breed my Frizzle hen with the neighbors Barred Rock rooster?

The reason why I'm asking is that she wants a frizzle and I would like a Barred Rock even if it's a mix. My frizzle is so beautiful and a extremely sweet and calm girl. I do know that only 30% will actually come out frizzle.

Do people breed with chickens from another flock? Would this be worth a try or would it be too stressful for both chickens?

Good questions I'd like to know what people say about this. Because I've wondered the same exact thing.

I dont see why not as long as there is not a super extream size difference. I just hatched out some EEs that have ameraucana moms and bantam cochin dads..anything is possible if your chickens are determined enough!

Also why not just go get some BRs? They are pretty run of the mill and shouldnt be too hard to find.

I have a BJG roo, and my cochin just hatched out a BJG X BC, Lt Brahma, WR, and a couple of unknowns. The unknowns got in there before I could mark them. How they get from one nest box to another ( the nest boxes have about a 4 in lip ) I'll never know

I have frizzles and they have breed with my little "mutt" chicken and so far 4 out of 5 are Very curly and she has no frizzle in her, so Yea def , you'd be surprised how many curly babies you'd get

Statistically 50% should be frizzles, unless yours is a "curly" with a double dose of the frizzle gene. In that case all of the chicks would be frizzled.

Ive had a great year for curly babies, all together there are 10 babies and only 1 is straight and the rest are all curls, that is unusual for me , I usually get half and half. Now I wait to see how many are roos

....my chances are gonna be worse I have a hunch
