can i clip a 5 week old chicks wings?

I have sevral chicks, one is a roo, (im almost positive) he seems to be an escape artist, he flys out of the brooder and back in! crazy... he also charged my 6 full grown hens yesterday from about 5 feet away in a full chick torpedo. he has attitude. anyways is it ok to clip his wing while he is so young? will this effect his feather growth?

Might be too early. They molt a lot when young, so you run the risk of cutting a blood feather.

Absolutely not, way too young. Put a top on your brooder--easily made with chicken wire or hardware cloth and a frame, or even a window screen. Let him grow up to get all his feathers in, then when he is flying over your 5 foot fence, you can read up on how to clip 1 wing to keep him off balance. Sorry, but he's just a baby.
