Sounds good for me at least today

Yup..mine LOVE the grubs they find underneath the goose pool when we change out the water, they always run to get the grubs under it. Big white ones... not sure what the heck kind they are.,..beetle grubs maybe?

Although you can't let the chickens into your Garden without tearing things up, my Aunt had a solution. She had one banty-hen that seemed more pet then chicken that she would take with her into her garden and that hen would gobble down grubs and earwigs that my Aunt would pull aside the mulch for just that purpose. Kept my Aunt from having to touch the bugs herself.

I raise redworms, mealworms, and hissing roaches for my chickens.Soon I will raise black soldier flies.

We used to have a worker hen.Her name was Bertha (black sex link) and she would follow me where I would dig up the yard for a post,or to make a fence,etc.. Anyways she would stand there and get her turn at the hole looking for the occasional beatle larve(grub worms), cicada larve, white worms, or just the green tree caterpillars that fell down occasionally. You couldnt shoo her away, she would make a big stink, and she loved drinking beer.

Oh my girls love grubs!!! Anytime I'm working outside and come across them I toss them to the girls! I saw go for it... and as a bonus you'll cut down on the bugs that will later eat your plants.

Yep, they're probably beetles.

I've always been told that grubs are Japanese Beetles... so I say let the chickens eat all they want.

When I find one of those large grasshoppers(locusts,I think) eating my palm trees, I give them to the chickens and it's like watching one of those nature programs where all the lions gang up on one buffalo. It takes some time but they eventually all get a piece of the bug
