Can I get feedback on my paragraph?

Noted to add that I majored in biology, but I have a BA. This means that they expected to to know English and everyone where I went to school was required to take and pass an English composition course.

What class is this paragraph for? And how hard is the teacher? I've had professors who would let sloppy language go if the point was made; but most were not so lenient. I had a friend in college, a math major, who in an upper level math course had three times as many points taken off for English errors as for math errors.

This is for English Comp 101. I am not sure how hard the teacher is since this is an online course and this is only my second assignment. She hasn't left feedback yet for my first assignment.
