Can I put a fan in my chickens coop?

My raised coop is 4'x 5'. I have a small fan near floor ramp that I leave partially open at night.
Fan blows cooler air coming through floor under the upper roost. There are 4 joists vents to allow hot air to escape. 20170619_090443.jpg .
I will be using tonight for the first time this year. A predicted 9 days of 90 F or above starts today. GC

No, I gave frozen fruits/veggies and then filled waterers with ice cubes. I had all doors and windows open trying to increase airflow.

Somewhere on these forums a while back I read that ice water can kill chickens if they are really hot. I just don't remember where I read it. I only give mine cool water and have to replace it several times a day when it gets hot. I suggest doing a little research before giving them ice water. :hmm
I do use a fan in my henhouse to keep the air circulating but it doesn't blow directly on the birds. ;)

Ice water killing chickens???? I'll just doubt it.
I do too...
...but I have seen a hen get an 'ice cream headache' from gorging on ice water,
I doubt it's good for any being to quaff down a bunch of ice water.
Now I just put ice cubes, with no water added, in large shallow pans.
They will walk and sit in the pans, and sip the ice as it melts.

I have a covered pen and attached coop that are A frame in shape. There is no air movement tonight at all and the thermometer said 83 at 8pm in the coop. I went to lowes and got a small compact fan called the Vornado. I put it on the support beam near the roof of the pen blowing in to the pop door which stays open year round ( pen is fort knox) Its not blowing directly on them but moving air through the coop and out the ventilation on the opposite side. I stood there and felt a nice cooler breeze coming through. It went from 83 to 79 in maybe 15 minutes. I am a little worried about fire but it's no different than running fans and a.c. in the house all day for the dogs. I would rather take the risk and not wake up to find them suffering from the heat.

I only dump a handful to extend the coolness so I highly doubt that killed them, in fact I was told to put ice in their water by several people, even frozen solid fruit to encourage water intake.
