can i save her? </3 *graphic pictures*

I think I am just going to put her down. She is drinking properly, and can swallow it. Is there any hope?
I would just let her be and wait. It can take a week or more before you see improvements. Let her rest quietly. I don't see anything she can't heal up from if given a chance. The next 24 hours will tell. If she survives the night she will heal.

I have almost culled a few that I swore wouldn't make it, but my husband said give them a chance. Just this spring a week old chick got a big circle of skin removed off her back, down to the muscle by a hen. It's now running around like nothing happened. Chickens are good at healing. She just needs quiet rest now in a cool, but not too cool area.

I am sorry for your loss.

How can all these chickens disappear? Is there someone stealing them or do you leave the coopdoor open at night??
That's a good question. I went outside at 7, they were all there, I came back out at nine to shut the coop, and 3 were in trees and 2 were ontop of our truck. I figured the other 15 were somewhere similar, so I closed up the coop, and in the morning, only 5 remained

I am very sorry for your loss :hit it sucks when we cant save them. Shock is very hard on them.

As for your other hens, something is getting in there and you need to make more of an effort to shut them up at night instead of assuming they are safe. They all need to be in the coop at night. Put out a game camera or set up traps because something is killing your birds. The predator has already found them to be a good food source so it will keep coming back until there is no more food

I went into the coop this morning, and five of my chickens and one of my cayuga ducks were dropped dead on their roosts (the poop tray), some alive by inches. Something dragged my cayuga duck up there. Some of their insides were ripped out/open. But, there was one hen on the floor. She was a broody. I dont know what happened, but she is still alive.

Can I save her???
