You guys are Great!
Tdub4chiks and gmendoza Love the outhouse coup pics.

My Hubby thinks that the outhouse will fall apart once we start to move it ...but we're going to try it anyway.
And thanks to the posts and BYC he's warming up to having chickens. You guys are the friendliest group of people. Thanks for making a "New Egg" feel so welcome.

MCkistoy you read my hubby's mind.. yes he wants to call it the "poop coop".

CFDF Love the corncob idea too!

I'll post pics as soon as we've moved it.. It's 4 by 6 feet so a good size and then we'd build the run off of that.
Nurse ELB I figured I could take apart the "seats and use the holes for the entrance to the 2 nesting boxes.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this will work. We're hosing it down this weekend hoping to get rid of most of the 8 legged nasties, and then move it on Mon or Tues.

Thanks Again! Denise

Just be careful where you step when you move it. One of the funnier things that happen during my teenage years: While doing one of the common Halloween "tricks" of that age which was tipping over outhouses, one of the gang fell into the pit. Messed up his whole Halloween night.

That is what my Dad and his brothers did, with their grandfather IN it, doing his business. Man they got some sore butts afterwards!

I love using the outhouses for coops! Novel ideas! Talk about recycling!

if you put some cross bracing on the sides until u get it moved...it might help keep it together...you could use PVC pipping to roll it to where you are taking it roll a little and remove the one from the back to the front until you get it there...good luck with the project would love to see the process and the end result...GL

Wow I dunno.I have a True Original fully Functional one here. You probabaly wouldn't be able to house many bird's in it.I will Post a pic of mine tomm. This baby is set on a concrete base.Niceeeeeeeee!Don't think any of our bird's have ever been in it as DH says it's it's 2nd Bath and Yes he keep's a fresh roll Of paper in there and bomb's for bugs too!

Hi Everyone,
The outhouse is OLD and hasn't been used in about 15 years . We're more concerned with snakes being in the pit. (We had problems with rattlers last year nesting in our stone front walk.)
Thanks for the advice about the cross braces and PVC we'll use both. Hopefully the the inside structure can hold up to the move. My DH keeps joking about setting up the video camera to capture the move and since he's being so accommodating about my "crazy chicken plan" I just may let him.
