Can I use Baby products as Silkie head poof gel?

My Silkie biddies are getting nice head poofs. I was wanting to find some sort of non-irritating product to use as mousse to help them see. I was thinking of baby lotion or baby sunblock. Not sure right now. Any ideas on something that would not irritate their eyes AND not collect alot of dirt?

Other than maybe coconut oil, I have no clue. Anything you use you would also have to make sure it was food safe, cause they're bound to ingest it.

I have some coconut oil too.... i will try it out today. I just want to do little "horns" in front so they can see better.

That could lead to cannibalizim. More than likely the chicks will peck at it get a taste for it and if they end up tasting blood you may or may not have a whole new issue to deal with

It didn't work anyway. I am going to keep a lookout for some sort of mousse that is for babies. I am just not wanting to trim such cute poof heads just yet.

Give those fru-fru's a good clipping so they can see. I would not put any thing on the feathers: any product you use will make the feathers more prone to collect dirt. And more prone to feather picking or make them sick from ingesting the product.
