can i use this as a heatign element.

yup well. it almost tyme to got to bed for me. i'll revive the thread in the am. Get some rest dream about eggs hatching due to the warmth of a toaster !! Get some rest we got a long day of bator making tomorrow.

thread revived. yoater out wire out drill out. Cooler OUt let do it !

great. i dont have any thermostate i was just gonna cuyt it on and see how far awy the wire needs to be.

Now horse . Whats there to burn the cooler doent have anythingm in itto cASUE A FIRE WITH THE TOASTER., tHERES NOTHING TO NURN. eGGS WONT GET TO HOT ONCE I REGULATE THE TEMPS. The wire cant burn. Tosters in the centre of the bATOR AND PLUSS THE HEATING PART IS ON THE iNSIDE. >> wHATS there 2 burn, ? However i eel you caution for safety but its n different that if you made a styrofoam bator with a lamp. Same percentage chance ofit setting ablaze but this is why we as hatchers can control our heating elements . WE SHALL TAMEOUR WILD TOASTERs !!!!!LOL

White i got a felling this toaster idea may workout

Reign in that toaster! That's good that it's working though!

I'm thinking of building the cabinet out of wood, with insulation, with a humidistat/fogger and thermostat/toaster/curling iron thingy mabob.

I'm thinking this is going to be one EXPENSIVE bator to run. Toasters use a lot of juice to power that wire heating element. Most bators are less than 25 watts, a toaster can be upwards of 1200 and up. This would be like running your super heat hair dryer 24/7.

dragon well i dunno but mines really small. i mean i'm not sayin it aint gonna burn a lot but i'm saying thats a risk i'm willing to take.

I'm calling it the

Toaster - cooler inator bator W/fan !

Fear it !!!!

It funny while i'm wathing an egg hatch in it i can drop a slice of wheat in the taster and have a snack while i wait lol. If only i cud work that way .

Hate to be a downer but I wouln't risk it, its not worth risking burning down your house or dieing of smoke inhalation or toxic fumes.

A light bulb would be on an insulated ceramic light base, and people use thermostats, so its less likely to start a fire, however precautions are important.

Wireing up a high temp heating wire, its not got the insulated base, the heats going to transfer, and those are going to be some really nasty fumes. What could burn? the cooler is foam or plastic right? if it overheats and heats what ts attached melt and burn the walls of the cooler.

ok ! so are you saying that if i use a thermostat it wont cause the cooler to burn ?

Can i buy 1 from ebay. i'll check thanx foir warning meeeeeee.!!1
