Can my Quail live with my Chicken?

Is there a problem with breeding them in the spring if we separate them from the chicken? Or does mixing them mean they shouldn't be bred at all?

I think they'd do their thing regardless of whether the chicken is with them or not. They don't tend to brood their own eggs anyway so the chicken won't be disturbing any nesting behaviour.

You said "as long as you don't plan on breeding to sell". I was wondering if there was something besides potential disease exposure to be concerned about.
I know they don't tend to go broody but we do have 2 trying to sit on their eggs lol

It's just disease transfer that people worry about. There are diseases that chickens can carry that they show no symptoms of but they can infect other chickens and poultry, and some of them are pretty awful. If you did want to sell them then as long as you stated that they had been raised with exposure to chickens then it's up to the consumer to decide. Also if you hatch the eggs in an incubator and are very careful not to put the offspring anywhere near your one little chicken, housed them with a good distance between the chicken pen and their pen, and practiced good hygiene to minimise any risk then it would be absolutely fine to on-sell the babies.

Gotcha! Thanks! We don't have any concrete plans to breed yet, but would like to some day.
We actually have a friend that may be interested in taking the Banty so it will likely be a non issue but one can never have too much info.
