can new birds be successfully added to a small flock

Do you think the same will work for ducks?
I have a year old male pekin, and 2 female whistling ducks. The litte pekin is 2 months old...Help...need feed back! All of my hens get along great with our dogs, cats, and the older ducks.

I picked up this duckling today , the woman who sold "sqeaky" to me said she was ready to stay outside and it should be no problem introducing her to our other ducks. Once this ducky got into the pond, the larger, older pekin grabbed her neck and tried to drown her! Help...how do I integrate all of them together so there is no fighting or drowning?

I just successfully rearranged. my flock. I had a broody with 3 (17 week old) chicks (a cockerel and 2 pullets) last night I moved the 4 young cockrels (21 week old) from my big coop to the rooster coop along with the cockerel that was in the broody coop. They joined 5 older roosters 1 year to 9 months old. A bit of squabbleing to arrange the pecking order no blood all are roosting together tonight. I moved the broody hen and the 2 hen chicks (17weeks old) in with the hens. All the hens were fine today no challenges. Picture is of the roos all lined up on the roost 5 old ones to the Left and 5 new ones to the right. The one with his tail to the camera is the youngest one. They are all Bantam Ameracuna Blue Wheaten and Wheatens they all kind of look alike. Probably couldn't tell who was who.

Thank for all your advice about keeping the birds quarentined. What I did last night was keep the chicks in the same crate with sqeaky the duck, as I brought them home together.
It's funny, my lorps wanted to be apart of that, so I had to move their roosts ( homemade out of milk crates) to the table on my porch where I had the crate.
It brings a new meaning to the name "mother hen" ...LOL ....They stayed all night with the new birds, until the sun came up. Of course I had work to do at this point, move the milk crates back to the coop, the hens lay around 9:30, move Squeaky in the crate to a spot near our pond so the others can get to know them...it seems to be working out OK...so far...squeaky is dying to get in the pond....when its warmer today I will let her out with the others and build a larger quarentine with a baby pool in it so she can play freely. any thoughts?

I put the new birds in a cage in the hen house for several days before letting them roam with the established birds. The older birds can be seen checking them out and after a few days they seem to be accepted, it also teaches the new birds where they are supposed to sleep at night.

We do it all the time. Housing them where they can see each other for a week or so really does help, but I think something even more important is space. It sounds like you have that.

Chickens have developed ways to live peacefully together. One way is that the weaker runs away from a confrontation with a stronger or just avoids them to start with. They are living animals so no one can give you any guarantees, but I think you’ll find that the vast majority of people that have trouble with integration don’t have a lot of room for them to run away and avoid.
