Confused.

Which is jubilee? Which is coronation? Which is speckled?

Jubilee Orpingtons are the Orps with the mille fleur type colouring. Coronation Sussex is a blue (or lavender) silver columbian & a Speckled Sussex is a dark red mille fleur colour.

Okay---maybe I'm being slow. What did you mean by

David wrote: "in Orpingtons Coronation is as Speckled in Sussex."

So I wrote "Jubilee" because the Orpington with a similar colour to a Speckled Sussex is called a Jubilee Orpington. There are no Coronation Orpintons.

The Coronation Sussex is said to have been first developed in the 1940s in honour of the coronation of a King George, presumably of Britain, though there were no kings at all crowned in the 1940s, King George VI, being the last King George, his being crowned in 1937.

The Jubilee Orpington being developed in honour of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897; the variety originally being known as the "Diamond Jubilee Orpington".

Why are they selling the split?

Do they not have a female?

Or are they keeping the purebreeds for themselves and throwing in the Columbian females as a way to sell more eggs?

We are breeding one of our Australian line Coronation Sussex roosters to our Australian line Light Sussex to improve type and have a different line introduced into the Coronations. We have lavenders from Coronation Sussex rooster crossed with lavender Orpingtons too.
