I have a 1 year old polish who was fine this morning but now can't lift her head. My husband found her in the run sitting with her head bent forward. He picked her up and I have her in a large glass aquarium inside. She will drink if I put her beak in water. She cant hold her head up but shes trying to fly. Also there are times when shes trying to fly that shes holding her head up. The rest of the girls are fine. Any suggestions would be helpful!

It sounds like she has wry neck (torticolis, crook neck, twisted neck.) It is a neurological symptom that can be a symptom of a head injury, a vitamin deficiency, or a symptom of certain diseases or viruses. The best treatment is to keep her calm, limit noise and stimulation, and give her poultry vitamins in her water that include thiamine (vitamin B1,) vitamin E, and then offer some chopped egg or tuna for selenium, a mineral needed for vitamin E absorption. Wry neck symptoms can last a short time or for weeks. It sometimes never goes away. She may need help eating and drinking to get enough nourishment. Add a lot of water to a small bowl of feed to help her eat. You can hold her and the bowl and help her get enough several times a day.
