Can someone ID this chicken for me?

Quote: I've had him for 4+ months, since he showed up here as a lil chick... so he's done his quarantine time, lol. He's been penned next to my Silkie Rooster bachelors for 4+ weeks now, and the only chicken Hens I have are Silkies and Showgirls... and they are penned in a separate area of my property about 1/2 acre away. I like my Silkie and Showgirl Hens with fuzz on their heads/backs, so he's gonna have to be a bachelor for life and hang with the rest of the boys. I'm pretty sure the Toms will kill him if I let him in the Turkey pen, so he can either hang/live with the Silkie Roos, or hug the Turkey pen all the time. His choice, lol.

Ooh can you imagine a Crele Silkey.... that would be an awesome color effect.

I have a really red Silkie Hen that would make a good mate for him... but geeze how long would that take me and how much culling would I have to deal with to end up with a Crele Silkie, (too much!) lol.

Sorry, but he's not crele colored. Crele is barring on top of duckwing, and this bird is not duckwing based. He's very pretty, and a nice red or red pyle with barring, just not crele.

Your state to a point is incorrect itself..

There is a whole group of patterns, colors, varieties that are duckwing based (or simply duckwing patterns if you will), the standard Crele pattern is Black Breasted Red with Barring gene added. Now a Red Pyle is Black Breasted Red with Dominate White added.

By your statement if the op's bird is not duckwing based then it could not be a Red Pyle with Barring added.

(*Note to others that may reading this, Black Breasted Red is a duckwing based pattern.)

I believe that the op's bird is some type of game fowl type cross.
I also believe that the bird is Black Breasted Red based fowl with Barring and Dominate White added making it a form of Crele.
If you enlarge the photos and look at wing, now look in the wing bay area, there you'll see that there is some red coloring showing up there and that is what makes me think that this bird is a Black Breasted Red based bird and not a Crow-wing based bird. If this bird was a Crow-wing based bird there would be no red in the bay of the wing, in fact it would be solid white much like the tail.

That's a way more in-depth ID on my Psycho Chicken than I was expecting, Thanks Chris

He's only 4.5-5 months old... so I dunno if he will change much or not as he matures. He has a few random black streaks here and there, and he used to have one long tail feather, but one of my Silkie Roos got ahold of it and used if for beak-floss, lol.

Thanks again for everyone's input, much appreciated!

Your Welcome PeepsCA,
He's still young and he could change in color some, I think he could even get more red in that wing bay area.

Thanks again everybody

. If I see any major changes in his appearance as he matures more I'll update with some new pics in a few months or so, and ask again what everyone's opinions of him are.
