If you start out with exhibition quality birds that are bred towards type and conformation, it is not difficult to revert back to UK standards.

That is where several breeders differ. Some prefer the UK look, so breed for UK standards to supply those of us who prefer the UK look more than the American. They may not be able to show them and win, but still have the bloodlines and type to produce more of the same type of birds.


ETA: To show that there are some of us who prefer the UK look to some breeds, I know I am always in the market for good UK-type birds. A nice bird bred to UK standards in Brahma, Orpington or Australorp makes me

You really cannot compare UK and American orps. They are two different standards.
