Can someone post pics of Lavender Orps. please?

Yes, I can see the difference in the UK birds and the project birds but those of us that have some of the project birds hope that we can by selective breeding get some birds close to those UK birds. I for one thank hinkjc for offering some of their eggs, chicks, and adults and all the work that went into getting the birds where they are currently.

Krys109uk - Thanks for posting the pictures. They are lovely and inspiration for what to work toward.

I believe me and many other people did not even know that there were UK type Lavender Orpingtons in the US. Does anyone have UK type Golden Laced birds in the US? I have worked my behind off on my project Golden Laced and hope that I haven't wasted years when I could have just gotten some of the beautiful UK birds.

These are Beautiful Chickens i don't believe i have ever seen these before.

Is this a natural occurring breed or are they crossed? (hope i phrased the question right)

supposing a person wanted to get fluffier, rounder orpingtons, would you cross on US available show orps, or would sneaking in a cochin here or there be the way to go? My lavender girl has a bit of cushion and fluffy pantaloons, but NOTHING like some of the ones you see online. I am not sure what even a show winning black orpington looks like in this country, or any country for that matter. Does anyone know a link or could post a pic that shows just how fluffy is desired in the US of A? I like the poofiness of the UK orps, but if that is not the standard in this country, I don't really want to spend the extra effort to go past "perfect" to a different, equally incorrect extreme for this country. Once again, not to stir controversy, I LOVE the UK look. I LIVE here in California, and if they are ever to be recognized I suppose I would have to breed to US standards, yes, I suppose, but my heart would be nudging me toward "... ppppsssst! Fluffier, MORE FLUFF!!!" lol

So, whaddya think a US orp is supposed to look like, a real show stopper, killer diller, national winner type orp. Anyone have pics or links?

Thanks all that posted pics.

Thanks Patty, I was wondering the same thing about using cochins to get fluffiness, anyone have any thoughts on that.

And gosh I guess I missed a lot since I posted the original post. Krys, I don't know what you said, but please calm down, I can't afford for you to get in trouble or banned, I will be needing your opinion and advice while I'm working on my projects. But very nice Orps, buy the way, finally I got to see your birds and the work you've put in them.

Thanks everyone
