A breeder will tell you what they are breeding exactly. Like... I got 2 Lavender Ameraucana from 1 of them who also breeds black. And the other sold me 2 "Swedish Flower",& a "Black Jersey Giant". I was so happy to not get hatchery stock..... Neither the Swedish (this one has a pea comb) or Jersey are what was stated.
The Lav's are beautiful and healthy (8 weeks, possibly both cockerels). Calm. I would buy from them again, if I don't get NPIP before that since I think it's against the rules. Obviously, not from the scammer who got $20 each for some unknown barnyard mix (I still love them though and they are healthy). Plus what I didn't know when I transported them across state lines!
(I am 15 minutes from the Oregon border)
This has been a learning process.
That being said, there is nothing wrong with Easter Eggers! I think they are beautiful and I love their tinted eggs.
I added them to my flock on purpose. I do find it to be a mixed bag of personalities and laying abilities. I had 1 that looked like your light brown, she was flighty, bottom of the pecking order, and layed sporadically (21 days in a row. 1 day off. 14 days in a row. 2 months off. &on). I have 1 right now that looks like your white EE with a darker grey head (acts flighty around other flighties, otherwise calm). I think it's fun to see how they change from chick colors to adult. A 2nd EE I have right now is coming in tan with dark on her body, she is VERY calm. Everybody loves her because she doesn't mind being handled and doesn't run away at all.
Love the pics.
