Can someone tell me what to do with my roosters?

You know... I just had mine processed and I put it in the oven, in a turkey bag (one of those big bags that keeps juices in) and it tasted so very very good. Was not too tough. They were about 8 months or so,.... would I fry them? Probably not, but it tasted awfully good in the oven! The crock pot would be good too, or a soup...

You won't like your pet roosters as well, probably, when they all start breeding the hens many, many times a day, till they have clawed all the feathers off their backs, and pulled all the feathers out of the back of their necks, where they grab them. May kill the hens, if their claws rip the skin after the feathers are gone. You need more hens (quite a few more, if you are going to keep all the roosters) or a seperate pen for all the roosters but one, or rid of them all but one. Hard facts for a new chicken owner, but not as hard on you as the roos will be on your poor little hens, if you keep that ratio. I have one roo for 20 hens, and he does his job quite nicely. Good luck--both to you and to your hens.

As others have said, you can set up a bachelor pen, eat them or give them away. It really just depends on what works for you. The one thing that doesn't work, is having lots of roos with just a few hens.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do. And get more hens.
