I'm going to see if I can 3d print some boots for her. I need to fix my big printer yet again 😩 these darn hi-tech devices are killing me!
She's had a great appetite today, she definitely ate her share or more of the cat food. Tomorrow I'm scrambling up a double yolker with some poultry b vitamin for her. Snowball is loving the pampered life too, she even let me stroke her wing earlier.
That is so sweet. I do hope she can get booties quickly, even cardboard shoes w/ vet wrap in the interim... chicks grow/develop fast every single day. Always something w/ these birds but I haven't ever regretted one day w/ them 🩷

Ok so the Noirans have names. Can’t remember who suggested the french names but I chose a few for the chickies

Odette
She has this strange curly tail happening.

Virginie
She is the darkest of them all, and has fabulously feathered feet.

Gisèle
She has a lovely Rufus coloured breast and also has lovely feathered feet, even more heavy than Virginie.

Vera
This was my grandmother’s name, not french but I like it, and Vera was the first to hop up on me and to grow in her tail.

Those are the girls tonight, they are growing and going everywhere.

Yep even up in trees! That’s Odette…

I'm thrilled w/ your Vera choice... it's my Mom's name which means truth/faith. In Russian it is pronounced Vetta & my sis's name is Betty so we combined the 2 names to honour Mom & sis...

...so here's our "Betta" when a chicklet

:oldNow I have to poke my beak in here

I'd be frantic.
I hope you can work out who's attacking these little ones Alex. You can't leave them hurting the little ones just when they feel like it.
Marie, I’m doing all I can do just to protect the others in my custody. I spent all afternoon with Nacho and her little one because she needed help. Both were fed well crops full when I carefully delivered the two back safely to the coop. Nacho is almost blind. It’s so sad. But I made Nacho a promise, I will watch over her only baby as long as I live. Nacho, don’t worry, sweet mama

TY for sharing your roo experience since we were never able to keep ours :(
Well I don’t yet have any roo experience. All I have is an overly energetic cockerel whose fate I am still weighing.
He will take blueberries from my hand - but I am convinced he would snatch a blueberry from a fox if such an opportunity arose. He is very fast when it comes to blueberries.
He appears from nowhere and almost immediately disappears again, and somehow where once was a blueberry there is no longer a blueberry!
Tax: the blueberry thief
