Can we add a stray duckling?

I had him next to a night light. He seems to have figured the mirror out now and seems much more content. I am going to introduce him to the other ducks in a couple of days.

If your weather is warm enough you could try putting the little one next to the other two inside something like a dog crate where they can all see each other that way they can't get use to each other without the littlest one getting picked on. Hope things are better today.

Weather is warm enough, it's around 95 and very humid every day. You might have seen my other thread, the duckling had three seizures yesterday. He seems much better today, so I am hopeful. I am bringing him home and we will have him next to the other ducks (but not in the pen).

No I'm sorry I missed that and I went back and read where he liked the mirror and then didn't. just didn't go back far enough. Can you get some poultry vitamins? I know it's not always easy when living in another country but even human grade B complex would be fine, mix up some into a warm mash and offer some to the lil one. he may have a vitamin /mineral dif. Ducklings need more of the B's than chicks do. What is he being fed?

I don't know if/where I can get poultry vitamins, but we did go out and get some niacin tablets for humans and have dissolved one in his water. We're also feeding him sardines and hard-boiled eggs. He's doing much better today. :)

Oh good niacin is great. good to hear he is better, you'll need to keep this up till at least 10 weeks old, just seems some ducklings need the help more than others. no feed for chickens or ducks available there?

There's feed here and I am going to try to research it some more. I am worried that it is medicated, which is why I haven't gotten it. Animals are fed the cheapest stuff here, so must ducks only eat broken rice.

I'd look into a better diet for these ducklings. rice just doesn't have the nutrition they need at the rate they grow which is why niacin is so important during their first 10-12 weeks of life when they are growing the fastest and Niacin dif can cause neurological issues as well which maybe where the seizures are coming from, and lack of proper nutrition, not throwing blame on you at all just stating fact, I know every culture is different in the way they feed and treat their animals, and here in the states we may go over board but alot of us don't raise for food so they are our pets which means they are treated like the rest of our pets[dogs cats etc. and of course cost comes into play and availability also.
