Can we build it? Yes we can... probably... kind of!

@Tooshay89 will you be keeping the coop on your property or moving it over to where the little girls live? A coop that big might be a bit of a beast to move.

Oh no, we built the coop on their property. There's no way we'd be able to move this thing ourselves, haha!

We live in a stuffy HOA community anyway, and they'd never "permit" us to build something in our yard. Our chickens/coop are actually across the street from our house on a 10 acre property that we bought specifically so I could keep my chickens. Hoping to save enough money this year to start building a house on the property and get out of this neighborhood. Since we built the coop, maybe we could even build the house ourselves! Hah! Just kidding. Not a chance.

Good, building it on their property will make life easier :D It's great the girls are so excited they're participating too.

Boo on HOA's...that 10 acres sounds wonderful though!

That coop looks great! It is so very nice for you to do this for them, and to get the girls involved is wonderful. x2 on the girls having "ownership" of this project, but what are you going to do at your place now that you lost your "helpers", lol!

Haha! I guess I'll just have to scoop my own poop and collect my own eggs. It's so funny, Leah LOVES cleaning my chicken coop. My chickens absolutely love when she comes over. They follow her around the property since she's always bringing them treats. I think I'll still have my helpers even after they have their own chickens. The younger sister (Kinsley) has dance practice right down the road from my house, so Leah is always asking to come and spend time with the chickens while they're in town.

Great story and build. Little kids love chickens; as do I. Those Ondura roofing panels are a breeze to work with and they look great. I used them on my coop build and very happy I didn't go with metal.

How are they holding up for you? I've never used them before and I was worried about their longevity. It looks great on your coop!

They look great and are holding up nicely. I've got to ask, is that not what you used? The Ondura panels from Lowes are asphalt and coated with various paint colors (brown, green, red...). Either way, I'm very happy with them.
