Can you eat fertile eggs?

We hatch "mutts" on purpose because they are different looking. All the mutts we hatched are hand fed from chicks so the kids can pick them up and hold them when they are ready to lay. I would not have it any other way myself.

That's cute. Yeah our hens are all really sweet too. They squat with their wings open when you go to pick them up. :)

As soon as my roo is old enough to fertilize the eggs, I want to hatch BO/EE. I've always wanted to see what they would look like! I love Easter eggers because of their wide range of colors, muffs, and eggs! (Yes, they are EE's and not ameracauna or aracauna.)

I have 6 easter eggers. Two are grey with beards...so pretty. And the others are all different colors mostly mixed up colors. What is BO?

BO is short for Buff Orpington. My top three favorite breeds (That I have) Are my BO's, EE's, and Gold stars.

Thank you for all the input! I actually think one of our chicks is a roo! It's a barred Plymouth Rock and his tail is way longer and curved than the rest of the chicks and his comb and wattles are much bigger and redder!

So I guess we will be having fertilized eggs after all when they get bigger! I just hope he isn't aggressive, we have two toddlers around the house, they always have hand fed the chicks since they were little so I hope that helps with the chickens dispositions. I have heard that the BRs are docile and friendly, does that include the Roos too?
