Can you eat the first eggs?

Hi everyone,

My chickens are just starting to lay eggs.

Yesterday, they laid 2.

I blew them both to keep, sense they were the first! I want to eat the next one...is that ok?

I have both saved a first egg (especially when my American Buff goose laid an egg big enough to make an entire omelet) and eaten the first eggs -- which are still exciting, but slightly less so after "chicken math" kicks in and you have LOTS of girls having first eggs.
