Can you spare a prayer or two for our dog?

Glad Daisy is doing well. I have the invisible fence for my Labradors and love it. I not only love it I advertise for the company that installed it. I've had it for 10 years and haven't had a problem. I think the training method used is important as I know several people whom underground fencing doesn't work for. I live in the middle of a state park and my dogs are tempted daily with wildlife that they would love to get and other dogs they would like to meet. I could put a raw steak right in front of the boundaries and my dogs wouldn't even think about crossing the line. Knock on wood. lol

She is almost 5 and has never attempted to run over it so I think she's well trained on it. There has even been a few times when the fed ex driver tossed her a biscuit and it landed on the wrong side of the wire and she would just lay there and look at it (as if a good hard stare would cause it to come to her) and even if she was chasing something, she never went over the line. I'm wondering if she got out in another area (most of our place is fenced). She's always been very good about staying away from the wire, even when the power was out a few times. At any rate I'm still not going to trust it 100%.

Oh I forgot to mention this. In the past few years we haven't been keeping her collar as tight since she was so good. Well a few weeks ago someone dropped a kitten off here and we were in the front yard (not where she can go) petting it. She got so excited and ran over the line and then ran back into the yard. She didn't yelp or anything so I'm wondering now if her collar wasn't making contact and she realized it after she went over that time. I didn't think of it at the time but when we put it back on her, we will be sure to tighten the collar and also use the longer prongs. We never bothered with the longer prongs but probably should have, at least during the winter when her coat is longer.

im glad daisy is doing better! Yeah some people can be so cruel! I remember one time I was on a trip in miami and somebody drove by and threw a pit bull puppy out the window! poor thing followed us until we put it in a school yard that was fenced in

. it was such a sweet puppy we all wanted to keep it but all of us lived in the jaxsonville area so no way we could have taken it back.
