can you "tell" at 3 weeks???

i have 20 chicks i bought strait run march 16th i think that would make them about 3 weeks old... i was on vacation this week end and had a friend look after my babies but when i came home half of them have lil baby combs!!! can i tell if they are roosters or hens by the size of their little comb???

Yes, that would be a pretty good indicator. Looks like a rooster on top and pullet on the bottom. At three weeks, it might not be 100% accurate. Some of the cockerels could develop later than others.
