I ordered silkies (blue and partridge), a bantam buff brahma, and a golden sebright from MPC. I listed red silkies and silver sebrights as substitutions. I'm pretty sure I ended up with a red silkie, but I'm not sure about the yellow/marked chick in this picture. She only has four toes, and they're not black (but I know that sometimes happens with poorly bred silkies). I kind of assumed that maybe she's my buff brahma, but she looks nothing like the photo on the website

Can you help??

Hatcheries will often post pics of high quality birds when in fact, their stock is nothing close to it. The general rule fo the thumb is I suppose to wait and see. I think it could be your buff brahma, as I haven't seen a silkie that looks like THAT before

Unfortunately, that IS your red silkie

it is by far one of the worst quality I've ever seen tho. Buff Brahmas have a totally different color pattern

As long as they're healthy I don't mind poor breed quality. It's impossible not to love them.
Tell your kiddos they did a good job naming their chicks! Maybe I should get them to help me, as I've only named the little gray/blue chick so far

She was just so dainty acting when I first got her, and she's petite looking, so she's Tinkerbell. DH hates the name...lol...but he's okay with Tink for short.
