CANADA GOOSE BREEDERS (I found LEGAL breeders!)

Pics
Ooh! You have the common subspecies? I’ve been looking for them, they are kind of hard to find. For whatever reason, the other subspecies are more popular but the common or eastern are the kind that the APA accepts, and I’d like to show them, just for kicks. Plus I just think it would be cool to own the kind I see flying over all the time. That would be far in the future though, when I have a place and money of my own.
I do! They're my favorite personally. My gander is adorable and super friendly. I don't have a ton of pics of them but this is my friendly one

And then these are the other two

I didn't know they accepted Canada geese! That's pretty neat. Well, let me know if you ever want some. Contrary to popular belief... they can be sold with paperwork, which I have. Lol.

I don’t think I said anywhere that it was legal. It’s pretty clear and obvious that people are not supposed to own Canada geese. The USDA is also not supposed to kill thousands upon thousands of Canada geese every year, and yet they do that at parks in nearly every city in the US. Gassing them and their babies to death in the most cruel way.
If you went and stole a Canada goose from the wild, yes, that is illegal. But if you buy one from the many people that legally own and breed them that would then not be illegal. Pretty simple.

To state it is completely false when you do not know either is quite ludicrous. I contacted many rescues and had in-depth conversations with them. They had to get special permits to keep them, and they were granted these permits, because they are rescues.

I will not edit my post. I used the appropriate words such as “I think “and I also used the appropriate words such as stating the bar headed geese are not illegal, which very clearly implies to any half person with half a brain that Canada geese ARE illegal to own. Perhaps my statement at the beginning of my post, which talks about it, not being legal in any way might be a clue that it is not legal to own Canada geese? Feel free to report my post to a moderator if you are unhappy with it.
If you want to rescue wild Canada geese (geese that weren't hatched in captivity) then sure, you'd probably have to be certified as a rescue and be inspected and all of that.

I've been inspected by USFWS game wardens before and they said all of my paperwork and records are perfect and my bird care is more than adequate. I do know what I'm talking about, thank you very much. I've been raising these birds for 5 years.

I'm going to recommend you read this

You don't seem to understand that any wild goose species can be kept in captivity with a permit. As well as all wild duck species.

Awwww, part of the reason I love Canadas is their friendliness. I love your heated pond and snow tunnels. It's a gorgeous setup. Someday I definitely want cacklers too because they are cute. It looks snowy there. What state do you live in?

They are the sweetest birds. Especially if raised from goslings.
Thanks, haha! It was a crazy winter. I had 5' drifts in my aviary. It was -30°F in those pics.
It's much better now, I'll have to take a new pic. I just planted some millet and wheat in there yesterday. The birds are hard on grass, haha.
I'm in SD. We actually come to Wisconsin frequently so I could easily get you Canada geese someday if you want.
