Canadians check in here....

Yeah, that's my roo, Foggy. If you're interested in his offspring, pm me. They won't be pure SFH obviously, but it's a thought. I have a few eggs of his in the bator right now, so I can share pics of what they turn out like. The mom is either a barred rock or this hen:
She's beautiful. Thank you for sharing that pic here, Kathryn.^^

Unfortunately I won't be able to keep chickens this time around. Quail should not be in the same area w/ chickens (due to disease crosses) & I know I won't have enough stamina to go through constant hand/feet/clothing decontamination/washes just to feed/maintain each ones. But when I move again down the road, to a much bigger farm, I will def make the switch & be looking into SFH's for free-ranging. They are beautiful & wonderful birds. They deserve more than the 1/4th acre I will have this summer move.

I use Canada post to send hatching quite a bit never have any trouble. Also recieve them too with np's
For Day old chicks you must be registered with Canada food inspection agency no exceptions, you could try grey hound have shipped eggs that way also.
I have shipped older birds with west jet. Hope this helps!

An inspection .....then you are registered not something I would do... If you need more specific info you would have to talk them.. Good luck !

I thought you were from Canada. I don't no how you would go about shipping into Canada. Other then by a carrier who does not require you be approved by the cfia. This just a Canada post condition. Maybe by plain would be easier. You would still need a form vs-17 from your vet filled put prior to shipment. Your vet would be able to help you put with that. Most people ship to a close post office on the us side and we pick up there.

Shipping into Canada is not possible, but I'm trying to figure out how to ship within Canada. I can bring them up to a Canadian post office and ship from there.

Only if you are cfia certified will canada post allow it. It's there policy not all,of them you need to,find one that doesn't require it.
