Canadians check in here....

Farmers Daughter, do you have BCM? I got one pullet in August from Darwell. She is not laying yet and has no any copper color. Normal? She is 19 weeks. :idunno
Did you get her from Duckopolis? I heard very mixed reviews about that place.
I have buckeyes and chanteclers. As they're heritage breeds, I know that they'll take longer to reach maturity. My oldest pullets were hatched in May, so I'm hoping to see something soon. My hens are molting so I'm down to one egg every few days.

Yes from Trent. I hope she will look something like the pics on website. My layers are on holidays too. Amerucaunas laying and that it. :idunno:idunno

Well we had a pretty big auction here today. The ornamental pheasant and game bird association organized it...
(We have a poultry auction every Friday as well)
Anyhow, I picked up 2 gold laced Wyandotte pullets. That brings the flock to 10, and just about all my coop can handle I’m afraid.
I already have plans to build another in the spring.

It is an addictive hobby as so many to choose from. I started 2.5 years ago after not having lived on a farm for 35 years and I absolutely love raising them! Lol!:jumpy:celebrate

I've been going recently now that I've found them, but i just got into this whole thing this summer. I'm not even done building the coop yet... they've all been living in my garden shed(its waay bigger)
Very new at this. I'm nervous about winter and the new additions have been sneezing... one of them is leaking white fluid from her eye, and winter is a horrible time to quarantine outdoor birds.

Do you have the new ones separated from the rest?
Sounds like they have mycoplasma. If you can, get them on tetracycline asap. If that is what's up with them, they will be carriers for life, which could possibly affect the rest of your flock once you integrate. I lost a bantam cochin to it in March. One of my hens showed some signs this summer. I quarantined her and gave her the tetracycline for a week. She still has droopy eyes, but everything else seems to have cleared up.
