Canadians check in here....

Thanks. I feel so bad.

I am in PEI anyone has any idea where I could find a hatchery that I could order online? I am looking for egg laying hens that can stand cold Canadian winters :)

I am afraid I don't trust anyone around me anymore.

@Brujj1 Chanteclers are a great cold breed, bred in quebec for cold winters.
Not sure about a hatchery though, as I buy from breed farms in my area.

Alberta, just a bit North of Calgary. Australorp and Bielefelder Chickens, Heritage Bronze Turkeys, Muscovys, Pilgrim Geese, Hair sheep. We were very fortunate to 'inherit' the Canadian Champion Turkey Chris as well as show quality Australorp and Pilgrim geese as our starting point. (Our Bielefelders and Muscovys are nice and beautiful and we love them, but they don't come from such prestigious lines. And in particular, our Muscovy's were - and are - picked for weight - so they are too big to meet show standards: show standards require they be smaller so we have no intention of or intention to select them for their show qualities.) Been lurking around this web site for the past several years, decided to join now.

If you're on facebook, join BC Backyard Poultry Group. You'll find people in your area to buy, sell and trade with.

Thanks for the advice! Will try that.

Hello! I'm on the Island as well :) Actually just about to purchase some Swedish Flower Hen Eggs for hatching...

I'm buying them from this farm :

Thanks so much for that link! They're not that far away, which is nice - I was sure I'd have to import from the mainland and was NOT looking forward to that fee! They have some beautiful birds.

Hello hello! I live east of Regina! Just thought I would check in. This is our first year raising chickens, winter is going to be fun I'm sure!
