Wow I have not been back to this thread for a while and it's sure grown!

Great to see you all. Being that spring is coming shall we talk hatcheries and who you would recommend for breeders/stock?

Anyone looking for any breed in particular or have a hatchery they really like?

I'll say that for my meat birds, ISA browns, turkeys and some basic heritage birds I have been really happy with Rochester in Alberta. I'm sorry we seem to have lost other big heritage hatcheries, and think we need more up here. I know of a feed store in the lower mainland BC that was importing large orders from McMurray, not sure if they still do. Ideal will ship to the boarder too so that's an option. That's all I know of for us in the west. Millers is strictly commercial birds and they substitute as needed so I'll never go with them again. Did not get what I ordered due top them being short that hatch day. They reserve that right, I'd rather not get chicks than get others.
