Hi there fellow Canucks!

I live in Vancouver, BC. I see there's a few of you living nearby in the lower mainland and the islands. I look forward to learning as much as I can from you because I am a total newbie - like Sargeant Schultz, "I know nothing!"

I/we haven't quite finished our chicken shed/coop yet but can't wait until we do because then we can get us some laying hens!

Does anyone have any recommendations as to where or who in the lower mainland I could buy 4 chicks or hens? (Update May 22: We bought four 5 week old pullets from a breeder, so are officially chicken owners now

Hello from BC as well, I'm in Oliver. Finally got me some town-chickens, 2 Light Brahmas, 2 EE, 1 RIR, and a black cochin frizzle. Coop is done, run should be finished by the weekend. Lovin' it! Anyone else from the Okanagan on here?

Hey ! Origionally from Penticton ! But have been living in Southern Ontario for years ...My father lives up in Bridlepath and my younger brothers live in Oosyoos and an older brother still lives in Penticton ...

Nice to hear from some former locals. There's nothing finer than summer in the south okanagan! I'm hoping the chickens will agree, I just have to come up with some strategies for keeping them cool. I'm thinking one of those sprinkler misters is a must. Thanks for the welcomes!
