You're very fortunate, chantecler, the breed is often difficult to obtain. I have a friend in Great Village NS who travels to NB and might be interested in some chicks. She's been looking for them here for a long time. Thank you!

I'm new to the chicken thing too. I got my bubbubs (that's what I call my chickens....sad I know....

) in May!
Anyhoo I got my Chantecler Chicks ( heritage chickens) from Genetic Preservation in Quebec. They shipped them to NB.
They are awesome to deal with and the birds are beautiful.

You need to order in January for some of the rarer breeds.

You can also try Rare Breeds Canada web site that has a list of breeder of heritage animals

There is also Canadian Egg swappers 2, a MSN group. You have to join the group in order to access the forum. It was kind of hard for me to find but it's there.
