Hi All,

I'm first time chicken owner and have decided to give my broody silkie some fertile eggs to sit on.

It day 12 and I would love some advice on whether the eggs are viable.

I really appreciate any comment/advice.

Many Thanks

I don't think any of them are good, at Day 12 there should be a lot of veining. But ask around, I'm no expert on this.

Candling from the pointy end is definitely not ideal. I would candle them either laying horizontally with the light shining thru the side, or with the light shining down thru the air cell from the blunt side. Whether viable or not, you can't see nearly as well if you do it from the pointy end like that.

Having said that, most don't look viable to me. There are a few that look like they may have something going on, but I would need pics thru the side or air cell to know for sure.
