candling just before hatching

No I haven't tried wet sponges but I have used damp paper towels. And it doesn't help much maybe a percent or two.

I will try adding more wet towels or sponges to it as well. Thanks for all the help. Ian just worried sick I think it is time for them to hatch and they haven't even started. Again thank you I will keep yall posted.

If you've not been able to get the humidity up and not seeing any kind of movement they may have not made it. I wouldn't give up hope but with low humidity they often grow too fast and die before hatch.

Yes, unfortunately if the humidity is too low they can die before they hatch. When they're just about to hatch you mostly only see the air cell and the rest of the egg is dark, and you can usually see a little movement. If they've internally pipped you can see the beak in the air cell. Good luck and a really good way to get the humidity up is to put wet paper towels across the bottom of the incubator. Humidity is all about the surface area of the water and not the amount, so the more surface area you can get, the higher the humidity will be.

Wow thanks so much. I am going to add some more paper towels. I am very worried. The only movement I see is very small about and it reacts to the light. But it has no room to move. So I can't see much. Thank you so much for the help

I just saw on another post about duck eggs the different stages of egg development and mine is on at least the last two pics but I am curious if most eggs are that way or if ducks are different than others?
