I also stuck some barnyard eggs under my broody girl last week. Since then I took her to the vet (injured knee- now in 'quiet' box and on celebrex) and another broody took over. Francesca has been in and out of broody all summer and she finally has her chance! She's so happy. Anyway with all the drama here I have no idea what's going on with the eggs, nevermind the fact that I have no idea what I'm doing. I looked last night and I could see veins in a couple of them but the others I wasn't sure. One was a darker mass and the other looked like the yolk was floating around. Plus a couple are dark brown eggs and I can hardly see anything. Will she push them out of the nest if they are bad, as the other poster mentioned? I put them under her Labor Day afternoon, so that makes them 6 days when I checked Sunday night? Should I try again on day 10?
