I am getting better at it.

When you refer to a detached air sac what does this look like?

When you candle an egg and it is clear, say after a week, would you all just toss it or do you leave it in on the off chance it will survive?

I was candling my Serama eggs and my Bantie Americauna eggs last night, and they are doing very well. I was so excited. The Seramas in particular were very active, as they are a few days older.

This is my first time incubating so my opinion may be of no use to you. But, If I had an egg that doesn't look like the others I'd watch it for a couple of days to see if any developments have occured. If theres not any changes within 2 days I'd go ahead and cull it. I'd give it two days though just in case it was a slower developing egg. Hatching eggs appear to develop rather rapidly to me, so if no changes were noted in two days time I'd say it's not going to. I've heard bad eggs can explode and ruin all the other eggs that are good. I wouldn't want to take that chance. I'd rather play it safe.
